This is an example Desk.com Canvas application that previews Textile formatting in the Next Gen Agent. This application pulls the Agents draft, converts the textile and then displays it in the Canvas side panel.
NOTE: The draft may take a few seconds to save, therefore delaying the responsiveness of the preview. Also, the preview is limited to the size of the Canvas frame and can't replace the reply box text like in the Classic Agent.
First, install this application by deploying the source code to your Heroku account. To deploy your application, simply click this button:
Now that you have the application on Heroku, go ahead and create the integration URL.
In the Name field, add a title for the this application. In this example, we’ll use 'Preview Textile'.
The Description field, though optional, is a way to give a general description of the integration URL.
Select 'Canvas iFrame' from the Open Location dropdown.
In the URL field, add the URL of your heroku application.
Toggle the Enabled button to 'Yes' and select the Permission level.
Click the Update button.
Now display the canvas application on your Case Layout.
Go to Cases >> Next Gen Case Layouts
Find the Preview Textile canvas application in the Integrations section on the right side of the screen.
Drag and Drop the application in your case layout.
Scroll over the left side of the 'Canvas Report' bar and click on the gear to open the Edit window. Adjust the pixel Height to 200 and Position, the order in which it appears in Case Details on the dashboard. Click Save.
After you have added the canvas application to your layout and selected users, open a ticket and you should see the Preview Textile button under Case Details.
