Borealis Isolated Postgres Beta

A PostgreSQL database add-on that takes security seriously. Starting at $0/mo.

Isolated from the public internet

Security best practices are clear that your backend services should be unreachable from the public internet. Borealis Isolated Postgres is different from other database add-ons: instead of exposing database servers to connections from the whole world, each cluster is isolated in its own virtual private cloud and all connections are required to travel through a secure tunnel. Simply add the add-on’s companion buildpack to automatically establish a secure tunnel for your app without any application code changes.

Fast, reliable, durable

By utilizing Amazon RDS, we bring you world-class database throughput and latency with a target availability of 99.99%. To ensure maximum protection against data loss, stored data is fully replicated across six physical copies in three different availability zones with typical replication times below 10 milliseconds. And, in multi-node database clusters, a hardware failure in the primary node results in fast automatic failover to one of the read replica nodes.
