Flying Sphinx

Fast and simple Sphinx-driven full-text search Starting at ~$0.017/hour.

Fast and Effective Search

Take the power of Sphinx’s full-text search, and let us deal with hosting it. All you need to do is provide a Sphinx configuration file, make sure your data’s being indexed, and away you go.

Email Support

If you have any questions or issues with Flying Sphinx - or indeed, with Sphinx itself - just get in touch, and we’ll work with you to get everything running smoothly.

Use MySQL and PostgreSQL as data sources

Sphinx can source its data directly via SQL statements from PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.

Ruby, Python and Node.js clients

While interacting with the API directly is certainly an option, there are pre-built client libraries for Ruby, Python and Node.js.

Just Works with Ruby and Thinking Sphinx

For applications built with Ruby and Rails, Flying Sphinx will work directly with Sphinx configurations provided through the popular Thinking Sphinx gem. And if you’re using delta indexing, then there’s support for Delayed Job, Resque and Sidekiq.

Dedicated Servers Available

If the existing plans don’t give you enough grunt or space, just get in touch with support to line up a dedicated server.
